So when we say we want customer feedback, we are serious about it. This month we have a bunch of opportunities on tap for you to let us know what you think about our Plant 3D efforts.
First, we have released Beta 1 for AutoCAD Plant 3D (codename: Stella). We are looking for feedback on the features -- in particular we are very interested in hearing if there is something that you consider a "must have” that you find sorely lacking. You can get Beta 1 from the Stella Project on My Feedback Portal (http://myfeedback.autodesk.com). If you are not already part of the Stella Project, you can get access to the Betas by modifying your MyFeedback profile (press the User button) to include the words Stella Beta in the Beta Code field of your profile. About a day later you should see the Stella Project as one of the options under your MyFeedback Zones. Once you have installed Beta 1, please review the ReadMe and the Preview Guide to help you get started.
By the way, if the timing isn't good for you to look at the Beta now, you will have another opportunity early in 2009.
Second, if you happen to be at Autodesk University 2008 the first week in December, we will be holding test drives of AutoCAD Plant 3D on Wednesday night 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. There are also a number of other chances at AU to see Stella and to chat with the Plant team.
Finally, also in this first week of December, we will be holding usability studies on Stella. In these studies we give you individual attention as we ask you to operate Stella - the only catch is you need to be in the San Francisco Bay area so we can do this in person. (We have plans for other cities in the upcoming months.) So if you are a piping designer in the Bay Area and are interested in giving us feedback, please drop me a line! We actually offer a few pennies in return for your valuable input.
